robertjm (399), El Cerrito, California, USA Jun 11, 2009 Nice carbonated head. Bubbles fall fairly quickly. Red body. Flavor of raisins on the sweet side with a Belgian kick to it.Body not too heavy. Will probably buy this again if it ever becomes more regular here in N. California. thornecb (1735), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA May 31, 2009 Pours deep amber into a tulip. Tan head recedes to skim surface. Balsamic and spicy fruit aromas. Crisp and well balance - sweet summer fruits upfront turning sour and lemony in the lasting finish. TampaBrew (726), Tampa, Florida, USA May 10, 2009 Pours a nice amber color. Smells of fruits, lemon zest, spices and yeast. Flavor is apple, figs, spices, belgian candy sugar and yeast. Medium body and sweet then dry finish. Great beer! RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA May 7, 2009 Pours brownish red with yellowy orange highlights and a beige head that sticks around for ages. Looks great. The aroma is awfully heavy on the apples and pears though, along with grapes, red wine, and maybe toffee. Tastes of more apples, pears, wine, spice, and a bit of caramel. Finishes with a little toast, brown sugar, and candy apples. Damn, this is fruity and very tangy. Not tart or sour really, just tangy. Creamy enough mouthfeel, but the carbonation is quite high and the tanginess isn’t all that desirable. Still it’s complex, unique and worth trying. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA May 5, 2009 Not quite a gusher but it did shoot the cork as soon as I loosened the cage. Lively carbonation, a bit tart, with biscuit dough, and wine notes. Smells like a fresh apple. Pretty nice if slightly flawed.I wish the mouthfeel wasn’t so aggressive. GranvilleTim (465), Granville, Illinois, USA Apr 22, 2009 Thanks Daknole. 750 ml. The cork came out as I was undoing the wire. Dark amber pour with a light tan head. Malt, hop, and fruit aroma. Has a great taste. Similar to the few other Flemish beers that I have had. The brew has a warming feeling to it. Has a taste that I am not quite sure how to describe. Not sweet, a bit tart?. I like it though. I need to find someone local that knows more about styles and tastes. Sediments turned the beer brown and the head darker. Nice lacing, nice beer, great trade. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 21, 2009 Bonus bottle courtesy of gunhaver - thanks! Pours a dark amber color with an obnoxious tan head of foam. Smells a little like a quad with an eathy potato aroma, but mostly like spiced potpourri. Tastes of caramel, clove, malt, faint anise, and rye. Quite boozy toward the end, but a solid beer nonetheless. ajm (902), Los Angeles, California, USA Apr 20, 2009 Bottle courtesy of nbutler11 - thanks Nick. Violent gusher - probs my own fault. Nice ruby plum color with a very persistent tan head. Smells of clove, flour, dark quad fruits and that Flemish non-funk funk, like what you get from Bacchus or Blvd. BBQ. Flavor is also slightly Flemish with a fair amount of spice. Almost like a Trap quad at times, especially after sediment.
