Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Poured at the Juptier brewfest. Copper pour. Medium white head. Aroma is very malty and has some great apple notes along with some spices. Flavor is tart apple, malt, woodsy notes and a bit of a dry finish. Very nice.

Copper to burnt orange in color. Diminished head of khaki bubbles with just a few on the rim and adrift in the middle of the glass. Musty fruit and grain in the aromas along with light oak, apple skins and hints of higher alcohols. Each pour gets a bit better looking with a little haze, a slightly darker hue and some better head retention. Mildly earthy caramel in the front. Light malt and caramel seem to float through into the middle. Fairly light palate for the heft with some nice soft effervescence. The deeper I get into this one, the more I feel like I’m dealing with s strong dubbel (not necessarily a bad thing). Yeast and attic dust seem to float in and out as well as some lime zest and resin. Rather funky brew with a significant amount of complexity. I’ll say this is one in which the whole seems better than the parts.

Copper pour with a small off white head. Aromas of sweet malts and light fruits. The flavors include light fruits like apples and pears along with some spices and a touch of alcohol comes through at the finish.

750 ml. Mostly clear copper with a lasting eighth-inch of cream. Aroma is sweet earth: musty, tart apples and berries baked in nutmeg and brown sugar. Flavor is similar, but has more of the musty-tart apple and brown sugar, with hints at vinegar. Some toasted oak and nut in the finish. Medium body is fairly smooth and slightly dryish in the end.

Pours with a crystal clear amber-orange body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing left on the glass. It’s sweet and malty with notes of fruit and candy sugar. Medium bodied, smooth and well carbonated.

Orangish brown color with thin head atop. Fruity and yeasty nose (apple/pear) with touches of light spice. Nice, crisp apple pie like flavors with some malty sweetness and a unique and refreshing apple cider like yeast profile. Very enjoyable flavors going on here.

Hazy dark orange color with a beige head. Aroma of spices, sweet malts and some sour fruits. Flavor of many fruits and spices, with some yeast and alcohol. Pretty good. Thanks to hoppy2beerhere for the trade.

Clear copper with tan head. Nice toasted caramel, yeasty spicy aroma. Light frothy mouthfeel. Decent flavors of caramel apple with ripe pear and spicy yeast. Nice alcohol twang to finish. Not too bad.
