Two turns of the cage key and the whole fucking top exploded off. It shot the cork and cage thirty feet across the room. Cloudy brown with a huge foamy head (it did blow up after all). Malty spicy aroma and taste with an orange taste and a tart finish. Raisin flavors become more dominant as the beer warms. Beerlando (2344), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2007 750ml. Practically needed a chainsaw to get the cork out. Cloudy, auburn-amber body. Small white head that settles to a very thin film with a pronounced edge. The aroma shows vinous white fruits, candy sugar, Granny Smith apples, and a funky, semi-sour farmhouse yeast. The flavor has a lightly toasted caramel base, with sweet and sour apples and lemon chiffon. Minimal hop presence. Medium duration tangy finish. High sugar content is quite apparent as it sits pretty heavy in the stomach. Still, the palate is not overly cloying. Interesting brew. Glad to see something like this coming out of Florida. drewbeerme (2299), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2009 This one was quite a gusher (an exploder really), took a while to pour. Coppered in color, a bit murky with a big, tan/khaki head. Aroma of yeast, spice, pepper, fruit and apples. Flavor of apples, yeast and spice; something a bit strange in there, but nothing bad really. Quite peppery in the finish. Becomes more apple-centric with time. A solid beer. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

There is a tinge of alcohol is theis medium-bodied, smooth brew. Overall this beer is very well-rounded and tasty.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 31, 2007 Bottle shared by artusory. Hazy copper/fiery orange body, medium off-white to buff head. Light tart, fruity nose, again with the plastic, band-aid notes I picked up in the Saison Athene. Sweet, sugary body with a light earthy finish, tainted by plasticy phenols. The sweetness is rather flabby. I had a hard time getting past the phenols, and couldn’t enjoy this much.
