Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Bottle via Beerlando. Light, hazy orange color. Smell of lemon, yeast, hops, zest and spicy pepper. Taste of yeast, hops, lemon zest, citrus and flowers.

Bottle thanks to DragonStout, who loves balls. Poured a hazy light amber color with a slight off-white head that quickly diminished to a ring. Aroma of light Belgian candi sugar, mango, tangerine, and light caramel. Smooth, sweet Belgian candi entry with caramel and undertones of tangerine, peach, and a hint of plum. Finishes off a bit tart with some yeast coming out out on the finish. Decent bite on the finish, but overall the carbonation was a bit lacking. Pretty well known that that is a bottling problem, though. Thanks for hooking me up, Dragon.

750ML Bottle-Trade w/daknole-Hazy copper color w/amoderate white rocky head. Sweet malted aroma. Sweet malt flavor w/traces of candied sugar, yeast, dread dough, caramel & some dark fruit. Very smooth & easy to drink, alcohol was very well hidden but this brew had some kick to it. Thanks Dakine, enjoyed both of these brews immensely-Exlcamation Point

Poured from a 750. Wow, I was not impressed with this guy. Aroma was funky goodness at first. Taste being slightly acidic, but more laco-acidic (and not in the good, intentional way) and slick fruit. Where is the carbonation? I really wanted to like this beer, but I was hugely disappointed.

Holy crap! Exploding cork. All I did was start to unwind the cage without ever touching the cork and bam. I lost a little more than half the bottle to the counter and floor. Quickly (well, not quick enough I guess) poured into a glass with a gushing head. Murky brown color, some floaties, huge head that finally is controlled after my half bottle donation. Aroma definitely consists of spices, not sure what though, cinnamon perhaps but other stuff too. Notes of dark fruit, apple cider, grapes and that basement smell. Nice aroma. Drinks light for 8%. Dry, spicy and funky. Yeast, apple and grape flavors. Overall musty with a touch of sour twang in the finish. Perhaps that’s where the alcohol shows. I’m annoyed at losing as much beer as I did so I’m going to hesitate to get this again and that’s too bad because the beer itself is pretty good. Cork said 2009 btw, after searching the other room for it. I should ding the rating more but I won’t.

Sample tasted at "Spring in the new year with brett" at fordests house. I thought this one was quite a surprise. Enjoyed it.

Cloudy caramel with big, fizzy and foamy tan head / LIght, crisp nose of orchard fruit, brett, and caramel / Light to medium body, tart and somewhat sour, with good balance and finish / Sour, a little skunky, flavors of caramel, apples, cherries, cinnamon and brett / Lacks the complexity of the best like Jolly Pumpkin, but very good.
