Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Bottle: Hazy copper, light head, no lacing. Nose of musty fruit and tart yeast; hay and aged hops. The flavor is zesty, light body, some pickly and brie notes. Cheese and zesty tail. Belgiany for florida.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with medium frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Complex tart citrus, fruity and yeasty aroma. Medium sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a sticky texture and lively carbonation. Good brew.

Looks like I liked this more than most. The bottle is from Capone’s. The pour is turbid medium coppery with off-white head. Aroma of funky yeast, candi sugary malt, fruit, and some peppery notes. Tastes fruity, with some cherry and peachy notes, fig, candi sugar, and funky spicy yeasty notes. Pretty rich, with notable complexity of palate, I’d buy this one again any day of the week.

Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, toasted grain), lightly yeasty (mold, basement), with notes of apples and pear syrup. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightlly unclean. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Second experience with this one, but just as disappointed with a bottle to myself. Clumsy, without direction or character, syrupy sweet, slightly off aftertaste. Better than the Athene, though, thankfully.

750 ml. bottle, corked and caged, from Bottle Trek. The cork put a dent in the ceiling. The foam tried to escape the bottle. Hazy amberish color with a tan head that went up and down quite quickly. Aromas of cola, raisins, treacle, and light stone fruits. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor matches the aroma. This stuff is really complex. I get a bit of chocolate towards the finish. Think there’s a lot of sugar, but it’s not sticky sweet. It’s not bitter, but there seems to be spice that offsets the sugar. It’s really good ale. I just had Fantome Black Ghost, and truly I think this is "better". MIght feel different on another day. Or not. Or to put it another way, who are these guys?

Hazy dark gold with a lightly off white head. Funky hay and sage. There is also some cake donuts. Taste of sweet almonds and ginger spice. There is a nice fruity canned peach note in the finish. Decent.

Bottle: Coppery hue with a small fading head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of apricot, cherry, bready and caramel malts, hint of lacto funk, cardamom, clove and a note of band-aid medicinal vapor. The taste starts with candy sugar and old bread, hint of cobweb, yeasty and wheaty, banana and plum fruit note in the background. The mouth feel is soft and medium-bodied. Not shabby put left wanting more. (THX Ryan)

Served from 750 ml bottle during ABR ’08 in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a semi-hazy dark amber brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of tart fruit, some yeast, candi sugar and a mild barnyard funk. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of toasted biscuits, yeast, candi sugar, some tart apple and cotton candy. Finish is slightly tart with a lingering yeast and caramel aftertaste.
