Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Nose is musty light colored fruit, sugar, apple cider, spice. Somewhat skunky too. Weird. Orange, cloudy. Some amber/reddish notes. No head. Green apple, pear, light fruit, yeast, bread, lightly tart, and very musty, a little skunky too. Lingering sweet musty flavor, a touch vinous with a little booze. Medium carbonation, but still sharp. Interesting with something that seems a little more authentic than many other american belgian efforts.Interesting.

This is from a green bottle, so I may have to re-rate. Cloudy orange, not much head. Very yeasty, fruity aroma, with stoeny and herbal notes. Some bubblegum and banana, too. Smooth, melow carbonation. Flavor doesn’t really measure up to the aroma - Sweet, and a lot of alcohol, considering its only 8%. Crisp and peppery toward the finish. A lot of yeasty flavor through to the end.

750ml bottle from Quake1028; Nose is of pink wines grapes, yeast, tartness, and spices; copper with a small off-white head; flavor is cloves, nutmeg, light fruitiness, light sweetness, and very light contrasting tartness. Interesting but not great!

Bottle, on a sailboat. Murky brown color. Thick foamy head. Sour fruit aromas. Ditto with the body which is packed with fermented tropical and orchard fruits, mulling spices, as well as some meat flavors. Quite nice and very unusual as St. Somewhere beers are wont to be. A nice beer for the boat!

Thanks to beerlando for this - hazy orange beer - the aroma is equal parts sweet and tart, with notes of orange marmalade and citrus pulp - semi-tart orange flavor, with just enough candi sugar sweetness to cut it - very pulpy and earthy, with a light, refreshing herbal character - very soft, yet lively at the same time - I’m impressed by this brewer so far.

The aroma is cider like with yeast, fruit, flowers, spice, and corn malt. The appearance is hazy amber. The flavor is like the aroma and light. The palate is thin but OK. I like it.

Bottle shared by EDA. Very nice label had perhaps more excited for the beer than I should’ve been. Mild hops in the aroma, bread, a touch of molasses. Lemon, rye bread, belgian yeasts taste... very melloe, not much going on, and exceptionally thin. I kept smelling this and tasting this trying to get more out of it but no matter how hard I dug I couldn’t find anything. It’s not that it was one-dimensional, more than I just couldn’t really find anything. There were also no discernible flaws, just a lack of character.

Bottle shared with Blankboy, Hogtown Harry, and Garthicus, blankboy’s bottle. Very fresh, yeasty, fruity, candy sugar aroma. Neat hazy orange, small white head. Taste is fresh, yeasty, fruity, and sweet. Almost like a kicked up Kool Aid from Belgium. Not too bad really, simple but enjoyable.
