Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

Bottle thanks to BigMilly8. Pours a dirty ruby orange with a late forming off white head. Nose is of fruity malts, breads, funk, tropical fruits, and yeast. Due to the nose I was anticipating a huge acidic flavor but this was not the case. Plums, yeast, bready malts, fresh oranges, doughy malts, candy sugars, with a touch of spiciness (I assume from the fine yeast particulates that now lay at the bottom of the bottle). Very light bodied and quite refreshing as the alcohol only becomes noticeable once this warms.

Cloudy brown/orange, with a nice tan head. Aroma of apple, citrus, caramel. Flavor is pretty similar, with some more pronounced brown sugar notes. Pretty easy drinking, but not terribly complex. Nice mouthfeel. Good brew.

Bonus bottle courtesy of gunhaver - thanks! Pours a dark amber color with an obnoxious tan head of foam. Smells a little like a quad with an eathy potato aroma, but mostly like spiced potpourri. Tastes of caramel, clove, malt, faint anise, and rye. Quite boozy toward the end, but a solid beer nonetheless.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a dark amber, big head. Nose is sour, dark dried fruits and quite complex. In the taste I detect the fruit as dried cherries, and the finish is caramel malt. Very nicely done.

This beer poured a tea colored brown with a big active tan head that faded into a ring. Didn’t have to look for the aroma, it came and got me. Full of over ripe fruit with yeast, funk, and caramel. Some grass, too. Very nice and sweet. Flavor had a lot going on. Like the aroma it was full of over ripe fruit with spices, pepper, yeast, brown sugar. Felt like dozens of pin pricks on my tongue with each sip. Alcohol wasn’t tasted but I couldn’t get up after drinking the 750. Just a very well done beer and one that could have come from Belgium. Enjoyed!

Copper to burnt orange in color. Diminished head of khaki bubbles with just a few on the rim and adrift in the middle of the glass. Musty fruit and grain in the aromas along with light oak, apple skins and hints of higher alcohols. Each pour gets a bit better looking with a little haze, a slightly darker hue and some better head retention. Mildly earthy caramel in the front. Light malt and caramel seem to float through into the middle. Fairly light palate for the heft with some nice soft effervescence. The deeper I get into this one, the more I feel like I’m dealing with s strong dubbel (not necessarily a bad thing). Yeast and attic dust seem to float in and out as well as some lime zest and resin. Rather funky brew with a significant amount of complexity. I’ll say this is one in which the whole seems better than the parts.
