Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

750ml from my Secret Santa, tytoanderso - thanks, Tyler!! Very cloudy orange pour is quite inviting, as is the fast rising head. Very buttery and yeasty aroma recalls Heavyweight’s Biere de Arte (and I don’t think it’s diacetyl). Slightly sour and musty in the nose too, and there’s a subdued sour taste along with some spice and malts. Seems more like a variation on a biere de garde than a strong, but that’s quibbling. This is quite enjoyable.

Opens with a POP! Dark murky chestnut brown; effervescent body; thick billowing khaki head. Very nice aroma, like lightly spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg; brett. Not quite cold enough. Tastes funky, light sweet malt flavor, like brown sugar. More than a little spicy. I would prefer somewhat less carbonation. Very similar to Jolly Pumpkin’s offerings, and if you slapped their label on this bottle you would have me fooled. Overall, good, and I appreciate what they are doing, although I think it has potential to be a lot better than it is.

750 ml bottle via trade? Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma was sweet, slightly fruity, Belgian candy sugar, yeast and spices. The flavor had more fruits, caramel malt, banana, yeast, sugary sweet, with a touch of alcohol. Decent interesting beer. Medium full mouthfeel.

Bomber tasted at Saarlander’s SoCal tasting with saarlander, cquiroga, dirty_martini & kittiesandbeer, JohnC and others. Cloudy yellow amber color. Small bubble head. Nice yeasty aroma with corriander I believe. A nice small amount of sour. Easy to drink.7,4,7,4,16:3.8 Rerate: 3/30/08: Fordest tasting: 7,3,7,3,15:3.5

courtesy of Chris Beers - pours a cloudy copper-brown colour under a huge foamy beige head; unclean aroma with notes of caramel, yeasts, brandy and undefined spices; medium to full malt body; fresh spicy and bready finish; quite long - interesting

Bottle. dark amber beer with a low off-white head. Caramel, light fig/plum aroma. Caramel, light yeast, light dark fruit flavor. Medium-light body. Lingering caramel, light sweetness, light yeast. Very caramel. Yeast could be stringer.
