| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Bottle… Pours a cloudy orange/amber with a small, creamy, white head. Malty, estery nose offers notes of tropical fruit, resin, brand-new sneakers, red apple and praline. The flavor is sweet and grainy with an abundance of caramel accompanied by pear, peach and apple esters. Lightly acidic. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with modest carbonation. Sweet, malty finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2008 My Bottom Line:
The earthy yeast of a Belgian countryside barnyard swirls within juicy tangerines and their spicy peel in this undercarbonated but pleasantly dirty Belgian-style Strong Ale. Too bad about the bottle conditioning issue because they’ve got a most authentic libation here.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A wispy head surfs the cloudy orange sunlight.
-There is no alcohol appearance at all in the flavor profile.
-There was no pop upon uncorking, so the nearly flaccid carbonation was not much of a surprise.
-That yeast is definitely redolent of a Fantôme’s (or Blaugies’) flavorful, rural uncleanliness.
-That tangerine fruitiness proffers some honeyed suggestions.
-The body is healthily lean, but is sadly depreciated by the lack of carbonation.
-A few floral hops dance within, perfectly integrated.
-There is a lot of potential here for an authentic Belgian-style ale; I hope to get to try different batches of it later on to see if they’ve reached my high expectations for them.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Bottle: Poured a pale clear orangey color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice medium sweet caramel malt with some light funky notes also discernable. Taste is a mix between some nice caramel medium sweet malt with some subtle funky notes. Nice creamy body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol but lacking spices and character to makes this truly interesting. I am glad I got the chance to try this and looking forward to try their other offerings. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Very fresh, yeasty, fruity, candy sugar aroma. Neat hazy orange, small white head. Taste is fresh, yeasty, fruity, and sweet. Almost like a kicked up Kool Aid from Belgium. Not too bad really, simple but enjoyable. Tmoney99 (4767), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

The flavor is mostly sweet, there’s some malt and spices in there too and a touch of fruits. The body is light with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. Pours a nice amber with an aroma of atticy sugar sweetness. Tastes of old vintage that has sat on a shelf for a few winters. Nice berry, nut, and cereal. The rating doesn’t indicate it, but this is a dang good beer.
