Pours cloudy amber with a moderate sized, sticky looking white head, good lace. Smells fruity and spicy and yeasty. Pretty sweet. Tastes sweet and yeasty with lots of fruit flavors, plums, raisins and some red fruits, raspberries maybe. Some spicy yeasty bread flavors as well. Medium body, active carbonation. Pretty good. durhambeer (1215), Durham, USA

Abundant carbonation in this bottle, with bubbles coming up from the bottom of the pour for almost the duration. Rather light and clear amber pour with huge off-white head. Yeasty, malty, maple syrupy nose with some cinnamon baked apple and woody tart cherry notes. Neither overly spiced nor overly sweet smelling. A little sourness on the nose, which is promising. Alcohol very well hidden. I’m liking this more as I get deeper into it. Really takes on the qualities of a Flemish sour the more it warms. I think this would disappoint in a tasting, but if you have the time to drink it for awhile, it definitely rewards. Very impressed with this brewery so far. Copper color with lasting beige head. Aroma is brown sugar, dark fruits, spices, and earth. Good dark malts and yeast, some fruitiness and slight sour notes. Aroma is yeasty, giving it some spicy notes.
Taste is sugary (blend of cane and crystal sugar), malty and spicy.
The sugar process is all over as is the yeast. Nice and smooth, easy to sip on.
A very fine beer. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Tampa, Fl. - Total Wines - 750 ml corked and caged bottle. Pours a dark orangeish amber with an initially rocky off white head that dminishes a bit halfway through. Aroma is a bit off with some funkiness to it - hard to place - overrpe prunes and a hint of bandaids. Grows on you and you get used to it. Flavor has some toffee, baked brown bread, raisins, pipe tobacco and hint of milk chocolate in the finish. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy. Glad to see some decent brews coming out of Florida and it feels good to support a local brewer. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA

It’s sweet and malty with notes of fruit and candy sugar. Medium bodied, smooth and well carbonated.
