Commercial Description:
Lectio Divina is a cross between an abbey double and a saison. Open fermentation with a saison strain and a dose of wild yeast at bottling add to the complexity.

750ml bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours a medium brown color with a HUGE off white/ beige head. Nose was quite funky with hints of bacteria and yeast. Palate was full of yeast while being way over carbonated......drain pour.

750mL bottle aquired in trade from Daknole- WOOHOO! Served in trappist glass- after a long day, it’s nice to unwind a little. Cork came exploding out after taking off the cage, sounding like a low cal. gunshot, leaving a divot in the ceiling- good thing it wasn’t aimed towards my eye! High-medium carbonation, large head quickly bubbled away - ugh oh. Semi transparent darkened amber with copper tint in color, aroma of yeast, funk, dull sweetness, and a note of clove. Hits the mouth with medium body, malt can be found but a bit medicinal taste/alcohol burn is felt, middle has saison feel, finish is slightly dry. Up for a re-rate sometime down the line.

Opaque brown with a light brown head. smells of alcohol, raisin and other similar fruits. Powerful alcohol notes for the abv, even considering it being 8%. Not much on the hops or malt side. Interesting but not outstanding.

Vintage 2008. Appearance: Pours a cloudy ambeer with a huge dense cream colored head. Leaves tons of lacing as well. Aroma: Red wine, plum, fig, sweet bread, and caramel. Taste: Caramel, blush wine, bready malt, mild hop bitterness. Mouthfeel: Creamy and syrupy. Overall: Not bad, but would probably have enjoyed this fresh, rather than with 1 year of age on it. Seemed a little oxidized.

750ml bottle. Pours amber-brown with a medium-large off-white head. Aroma is fairly malty with a touch of yeast and ripened fruit. Flavor is of caramel malts and just a slight amount of alcohol. Pretty good beer.

bottle from hopshunter. Pours a murky dark brownish red color with a huge off white foamy head. Cork exploded off of the bottle upon releasing the cage but no gusher. Nose is lightly sour and a little funky with a small hint of some dark fruits and caramel malt. Palate is full and foamy with a nice tingle. Flavors of light cherries and plums with some malty caramel notes hidden throughout. The light yeasty funkiness is also present.

Bottle. Tons of carbonation, cork blew out when the cage was barely loosened. Poured a brownish orange with a big off-white head. Aroma of sweet fruit, malt, spice. Fruit notes are apple, citrus, and some faint dark fruit. Yeast and bready malt are also present. Taste is really similar. Body is well carbonated and sticky. Kind of hard to drink. A little too much booze in the finish and sticky sweetness. Overall, a decent and complex brew.
