So i scored this back in florida a few weeks ago. It didnt look like a beer from florida until i saw it on the label. It was decent. You can really go wherever you want to with a saison, and they did i guess, just in a grapy raisony, peppery kind of way. Not what i would do, but it was pretty decent.

750ml 2008 bottle bought at Pat’s Liquors in Porter, Indiana: This poured a slightly hazed yellow/gold body with a bubbly two-fingered head. It has an aroma of sweet toasted malt covered with a multitude of apices, white pepper, lemon zest, tart citrus fruit, and floral scents. Spritzy mouthfeel. All from the nose blends smoothly into the flavor and has the addition of honey and mineral water. Very dry finish. A most enjoyable beer.

2008 Vintage 750 thanks to dchmela. Pours with a glowing, hazed, sunshine golden body with a large, fluffy and long lasting head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma of honey, fennel, coriander, biscuit, pepper, must and hops. Taste is hops, earthiness, tons of malt, herbal notes, cereal, alcohol, and pepper. Slight unami note in the finish. Really pleasant to drink, but quite strong for a saison. Lively carbonation, dry mouthfeel.

750 ml, 2008 vintage. Sparkling golden with a quarter inch of lasting bubbles. Sticky lacing. Very interesting aroma of white pepper, coriander, resin, sourish white grape must, and dried wood. Flavor is white pepper, soured muscadine wine with a hint of vinegar, musty woodpile, earthy coriander and lemon-honey. Light-medium body is tingly and dry. Gets tastier and more peppery as I continue; pretty interesting brew.

Poured at Jupiter brewfest. Amber pour, small head. Aroma is spicy with some good hops and malt. Flavor is earthy, yeasty, and a bit funky. Not bad at all.

750mL bottle, 1st bottling. Poured medium-pale golden with a short, fizzy cap of white head.. some sediment in there upon careful pour even though the bottle has been still for a couple months. The aroma picked up lemon zest and meat along with light, whiter spices and floral notes over pale bready sweetness.. nicely balanced. The flavor had a lot of the same character as the nose with bready malts at the core surrounded by sour lemon, floral bitterness, and dry, dusty spices.. finished with more of the lemon. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate with fine balance.. this didn’t excel at any point, but it managed to be at least good on all of ’em.

Golden yellow to amber with a medium white head. Aroma of toasted malt, mild funk, fruit and yeast. Taste of toasted malt, mild fruit, bready malt, earthy hops and mild spice. Not too bad.

750 ml. Clear, golden color with a thick, frothy, white head. Aroma of pepper, coriander, barnyard funk, and slight citrus hops. Mild carbonation. Flavor is pretty good, with grassy notes and a thick yeasty backbone. There is an underlying funk, but nothing too over the top. Finish has a bit of a citrus note. Nice beer.
