| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Aroma is sour, funky, sweet, with a subdued spiciness.
Taste is caramel, apples, lots of brett and funkiness, and a bit of spice.
Mouthfeel is very dry, but has a lingering sweet, caramel fullness that rounds it out without being too "crisp".
Holy fuck. This beer is awesome.
More notes:
The sourness is really starting to come out of this beer. Somewhat fizzy mouthfeel.
The head just sticks there like a bubble bath. No great amount of dissipation.
Lots more caramel and apple still with only a hint of the spice (vanilla, lemon rind, earthy hops, cinnamon, mint).
No alcohol present, but perhaps the carbonation could disguise itself as a harshness attributed to alcohol.
This is really, really good. marcus (1885), Sacramento, California, USA

There is a refreshing caramel malt flavor with light spices and very little hop bitterness. This is a decent saison. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2008 750 Pours a very murky and hazed, dull amber yellow with a decent head that diminishes rapidly. The aroma is wheat like, slightly lemony, and perhaps some minor farmhouse notes. The flavor is a spicy blend that seems to hit from all sides, with clove, sweetness, white pepper, vanilla, moist dankness (in a good way), wheat, very noticeable hops, minor leather, and some heat. The palate is very refreshing, cleansing, and lively - awesome with food. Overall, this really is outstanding! Cheers to finally adding Florida to my stats. stefanje (947), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2008 750 ml bottle from Dakine. Pours a cloudy yellow with a big white head that left plenty of lacing. Cork launched with a force that was astounding, dented my 14 foot vaulted ceiling, my vote for explosive cork of the year award. The aroma is funky, musty and spicy. The flavor is complex with lemons, cinnamon, hay, vanilla and cloves. The mouthfeel is full and satisfying with soft carbonation. The finish was medium in duration, dry and fairly clean with just a hint of lingering clove. Overall: This is a very good saison, I am quite impressed. Appearance: Thick , foggy hazed copper/orange ale with large bright head. Semi ornamental lacing. 4-. Nose: Citric , grassy , hay with tart apple , hint of farm ale with grassy scents. Flavor/Palate : Sweeter front , caramel sugars. Grassy hay like with slight hints of vanilla. More complex in the centre what was a bit unusual. Sweet tartness with subtle bitterness. Good.
