When gingersnaps were brought up, I sort of alternately placed the scent as gingersnaps or salami, but the whole time it was one-dimensional, and even if salami was just my nost being weird, just wasn’t too much there for me. Flavor was less weird, with spicy notes, grassy notes, bitter hop notes, maybe some super light fruity notes, but still was nothing to rock my socks. Palate was fine, wasn’t a poorly constructed beer it didn’t seem (and one fellow with me did enjoy the brew very much), but for me, was little more than weird. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light golden color with a white head which leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma and flavor of mint gumdrops, gingersnaps, bitter hops (sort of an odd flavor that I cam’t quite place, but that’s the best I can come up with). Initially, this beer is quite drinkable despite the unique/odd flavor. In the finish I got some wort spoilage (vegetably flavor) and bitterness. Kinda got worse as you drank though. Hmm, I didn’t really get this one and probably wouldn’t buy again. sebletitje (1914), Tampa, Florida, USA

Cloudy yeast - golden, pours very well, good head filled with aroma. Right away you will be captured by the sweet smell of chamomille. Spices are very present, one can distinguish the rosemary and black pepper.
Sweet, very complex, the spices are clearly present. From the first sip to the last, this beer will have you find more and more hidden flavors.
I was captured by this beer. From the outside package of the bottle to the label to the pleasure of tasting it, it is an overall best Belgian style ales made in US.
Comes in 750ml corked bottles and wire caged.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2008 Bottle: Cloudy, dirty golden pour with a moderate white head. Heavy spice (cloves) and florals in the nose. Flavor is full of citrus, more cloves, grassiness, florals. Thanks BuckeyeBoy. BückDich (4847), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2008 Bottle: Pours a golden hazy yellow color, huge carbonation and a quickly dissipating head. LOUD pop on the cork; spotty lacing. The nose is spicy; plenty of esters, fruity pepper and a sulfur carbonation note; blends well. The flavor is smooth, nice esters, low alcohol bite, bitterness and acidity compliment each other. Finishes clean. Nice! Thanks BuckeyeBoy! DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA

Lovely spice and sweetness, lavender, cardamon, lemon citrus, some funkiness. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Cloudy yellow with no head. Smell is sweet and citrisy but a little light. Flavor is sweet and fruity and has some cinnamon and perhaps a basil character to it as well. Unique flavor but awful flat palate. No carbonation - no movement at all. I would love to try one that isn’t flat. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2008 750 ml bottle, the first batch. Enjoyed on the metra ride home from pre-DLD. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. Yeasty nose. Citrus, earthy, sweet with grains and bread. Sweet flavors. Caramel grains, yeast, spices, a little grassy. After drinking great beers, no one wanted to finish this one. And after you’ve had a lot of great beers, its hard to pour beer back into a 750 when you’re on a moving train.
