Aroma is slight yeast, apple, cinnamon, molasses. Taste is apple pie, yeast, cinnamon. Great beer. Very easy drinking but has a lot of complexity.h darkguardian (506), Florida, USA

Smells incredible, very spicy with hints of clove, cinammon and funk and a underlying fruitiness. Pours hazy orange with some sediment and a huge fizzy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Some nice spiderweb lacing. Taste is terrific, a little light on funk but much spicier than alot of saisons. Has a very strong spicy clove note with cinammon and cardamom coming through and a faint hoppiness that must contribue that citrus aroma. Finishes very dry with a hint of yeast. Very underated in my opinion, possibly because of some of the bottling issues they had with previous batches. This one was carbonated terrificly, very balanced and drinkable, the abv was completely hidden. This is a classy and terrifically crafted brew, I expect great things in the future from this brewery. padrefan98 (788), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA

Pain in the arse cork, but thank god someone had a cork screw. Imagine that. Typical Saison style with lots of peppery clove like flavors. Oakes (8114), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Hazy dark straw colour. Aroma is floral (chamomile), spicy (black pepper), fruity (blackberry), yeasty, slightly vinous and there’s a hint of brett in there as well. Brash and intense, this smells almost intimidating. On the palate there’s a peppery fore with raspberry and cherry esters. A lingering earthy hoppiness melds well with dusty yeast notes. A little bit lively going down. Alcohol is present just enough to provide a backbone for all this craziness. Quite refreshing, on top of everything else. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Thanks to me for bringing this to the Alesmith Release party line tasting. And thanks to Ibrew2or3 for leaving it with me. Lots of spice and clove on the aroma and the flavor. Earthy and somewhat bitter on the finish. Very good. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2008 C&C 750 from kp - thanks! Cloudy gold with a small white head that could only be coaxed out by a vigorous pour. Mildly sweet nose of pear, cinnamon and cardamom, just a touch of tart funk. Medium bodied, feels kinda dead, not much carbonation at all. Lightly sweet and spicy, lots of cardamom and cinnamon, yeasty with some lemon drop and that hint of tartness eluded to in the nose. This one actually grew on me quite a bit, with a more lively body this would kick ass... RCL (1486), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Just tons of coriander, clove, cardamom and nutmeg. By far, one of the spiciest saisons I’ve ever had. Worth a try for the aroma alone, it’s crazy spicy. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Happy cork pop. Pours hazy beige/gold with lots of froth and lace. Key lime, ginger, biscuit nose. Ginger ale, chamomile, key lime pie with graham cracker crust flavors. Fizzy palate. A little thin but such a fun and ambitious flavor profile.
