Fine complex pepper aroma’s with vegetal accent. small hint of pastis (Ricard) and loads of freshness in the nose. The taste is original with a sour touch. It ends with a well balanced sour bitterness. fiulijn (7330), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2004 Corked bottle, about 4 years old Beautiful (cloudy) orange-amber color; big head. Very good; maybe too dry and a bit thin at the end because of the age, but well spicy, both the aroma and taste (coriander and most of all white pepper). YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 2, 2004 This really put me off. Amber with a champagne head. Aroma was sweet and cidery. Smooth and thin in the mouth. The flavor was simply awful. Bitter, metallic notes, unpleasant.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2004 (750ml bottle) 2000 Vintage. Purchased at the Party Source in Syracuse, NY. Much like a horse out of the gates - explosive! Poured a huge, foamy head and a cloudy, hyper-carbonated body. Nose of yeast, sour apples and vinegar. The flavour is terribly acidic - sour apples meet tonic water. Not to my liking but definitely a leader among saison. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2004 I guess I had a slightly older bottle. Poured a cloudy light brown and red color with lots of sediment. Also had a very thin head. Aroma of hay, sour apples and dry champagne. The taste is very tart. Lots of vinegar and a raspberry finish. The aftertaste is similar to bad apple cider. This is just a little too sour for my tastes, but would probably please anyone that is a fan of geuzes. jeffc666 (1892), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 11, 2004 2000 vintage Golden amber with a champagne-esque lively body. The head is initially large and frothy and mostly maintains its size. Spicy acidic aroma, almost like a gueze. The flavor is equally as interesting, sweetness up front, then tons of spices, and some acidity, followed by musty aftertaste. Body is medium and quite lively. To sum it up, the saison that thinks it is a gueze. haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 10, 2004 errr ... a kind of a let down. Aroma was of apples and oranges, maybe a litttle rotten apples but nicely balanced none of the less. Tiny head, a little dark amber colour. Taste was. Fruity undertones, balanced with malt, to much tart .. not as good as I was hoping belgianhomebrew (646), Acworth, Georgia, USA
