Dec 31, 2008 75cl botttle from Beerplanet, Bruxelles. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Nose is spicy and yeasty. Coriander, hay. orange peel and anis. Some sour notes. Dry and herbal. Medium bodied. Ok, but I am a bit disappointed. Had my hopes up with this one. Too thin and lacks crispyness and freshness.

Dec 25, 2008 Bottle of unknown vintage. Pours with a huge creamy off-white head. Hazy golden body underneath surrounded by good lacing. Aroma of barnyard, lemon, hay and pepper. Taste is hay, pepper, citrus, and spices including anise and ginger. Slight plastic in the aftertastes that makes it less than highly drinkable. Fizzy and dry mouthfeel.

Dec 23, 2008 Bottle: 1995 Vintage. Popped this the day I sold my 95 Jeep to celebrate. Small pop, followed by a clear copper pour with no head. Aroma is sweet and vinous, perhaps a little acidic and sour. Tastes both sweet and tart. The spices play a supporting role with just a little more emphasis on the orange peel. Very smooth, very good. Thanks BuckeyeBoy for encouraging me to get this old ass beer that was brewed seven years before I was of legal drinking age! Now I must find more...

Dec 20, 2008 1995 bottle. Gold, copper color with no head. Incredibly sour aroma with a bit of fruity sweetness. Tastes pretty lousy. Some fruit, but mostly vinegar. Thin finish.

Dec 5, 2008 Pours hazy amber with off white head. Spicy and peppery aroma. Slightly sweet malt flavor with some orange, licorice and a touch of pepper. Medim body with soft carbonation. A well done and interesting saison.

Nov 27, 2008 Sample at the Columbus Ratebeer gathering at ogglethorp’s 11/20/08: 1995 vintage bottle. This beer is a rich amber-orange color with a thin white head that burns away quickly. Minimal lacing to be found. Vinous aroma with notes of funky yeast and spices. Medium body with flavors of grapes, sour apples and yeast. The finish is woody with a fruity and peppery aftertaste. Overall this beer held up pretty well and is an interesting Saison.

Oct 25, 2008 Tasting at the McBackus Backyard Bash. Thanks to Solan for the taste. Cloudy orange amber pour. Sour apple vinegar and caramel aroma. Sour vinegar apple pucker taste, with more sour finish. Not impressed by it.

Oct 21, 2008 Thanks to SoLan for the 1995 vintage tasting at the Backus Backyard Bash! Great bring. A whole lotta funk going on with this! Pours a light orange with a little head and surprisingly well carbonated. Also surprising, not an overkill of vinegar. Great balace between the acid, sour and sweetness.
