Bottle picked up at Hop Duvel, Gent had this 29-12-07 A wonderful wheaty and soft lemon scented aroma. Poured pale lemon with slight haze and a nice white head. This tasted incredibly fresh, a wonderfula balance with just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. The taste was almost lemon cheescake with a big dollop of creme fraiche on the side. I absolutely loved this, probably my favourite beer over the Christmas period, simply stunning.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk. Pours a light hazy pale golden with lots of bubbles reaching towards a big, bubbly white head that fizzes away. Aroma is lightly sour with lemons, oranges, clementines, but also ginger, nutmeg, hops, grass and light funkiness. Spritzy and lively mouthfeel with a dry edge to it. Flavours are typically crisp, drying out my mouth a great deal. Flavour is a little thin on the ground perhaps, undermined by this powerful dryness. The ginger appears along with some herbs and light hops. This is good, but the dryness stops some of the flavours short a bit too soon.

The aroma is right for the style but not something I am crazy about. It’s tart and sour with funk. There is also malty, soap, hops, and yeast. The appearance is golden with an orange hue. The head is nice. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s not bad but it’s not my style.

a bit too soapy for me taste. Its got a great pour and a fabulous head that stays with you until the very end. The taste is very malty with some light hops taste. But it the spelt gives it an off taste and flavor.

Bottled, Pig’s Ear BF Fruity, true to style - somewhere between apricot and barnyard. Well balanced, dry finish, but the fruitiness lingers.

Pous an unfiltered hazy dull golden color with a good amount of white head. Strong banana, grainy, bread and sweet gummy aroma. Citrus, melons and just a bit of banana on the toungue. Lively and full, with a sweet and dry palate. Full carbonation (cork hit the ceiling when it was opened). Very dry with a bitter finish.

Bottle, Pig’s Ear Festival, London: Clear to slightly hazy gold with a large head. Lovely floral rubber aroma (it’s better than it sounds) that is followed by a gently tart barnyard, slightly wild chord. In the mouth it is pretty restrained, but some spice flavours bring things along. This was really nice but I found myself wanting a bit more from it.

Bottled. Slightly hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white head, also particles floating around. Aroma is fruity, earthy and a bit grainy. Flavour is very citrusfruity along with mild wood and some hints of earthyness. Pleasantly balanced.
