Somehow, the nose comes out far sweeter than its brother’s though and not as citrus and fresh focused. My bottle is not at its freshest, but still ahead of its December 2006 best by date. The spice profile is mostly there, though the gorgeous pepper is muted down. What replaces those delicacies is a statement of wheaty, sweetish, bready malts that blend in rather naturally with the Dupont yeast character, but some dimensions are lost along the way, the yeast takes a lot of room in the taste profile while the hops don’t manage to impose themselves as a determinant. A nice and refreshing Belgian, but frankly nowhere near mindblowing like the Vieille Provision. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Hey, a good organic beer! It pours a pale, hazy straw body with a short-lived creamy head. The aroma is soft sweet malts with wild grasses and warm spices. The malts recede in the flavor, the grasses and bitter spices taking over. It finishes with a citric zest bitterness that refreshes. Nice.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 3, 2006 A pale orange beer with an OK off-white head. The aroma is sweet and fresh with light notes of hops and spices. The flavor is sweet malty, but with a fresh grassy and lightly spicy note, that also contains some fruity notes. Quite refreshing. fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2006 Hazy golden color; fine perlage; creamy head. Malty and spicy aroma. Medium body, not much malt taste, more spices (coriander). Refreshing, but simple Saison. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Updated: Aug 9, 2008Any first impressions?
-A creamy head shields the murky blond.
-Bubblegummy yeasty emanations surprise, mostly giving off candy and banana wealth.
-White pepper and wooden, herbal hops surf the gummy yeast waves.
-Frothy carbonation dashes through the lean maltiness.
What if you dig deeper?
-A wheaty presence is easily felt amongst the plantanes, offering unpredicted weizen connotations.
-A herbal hop dryness reassures in the finish.
-I must say the lack of clarity brought forth by the omnipresent yeastiness is, for me, the main reason I don’t love this beer as much as the regular Saison Dupont. But I cannot say this is not very good.
Bottle; best before Dec ’06. From the tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa, in Roma.
