This is an easy-drinking, lemony saison. It’s not as remarkable as Dupont’s Vieille Provision but it’s still a flavoursome, summery thirst-quencher. It poured an unfiltered lemon curd with a generous one-inch head. Terrific retention. The zesty aroma has lemon rind, yeast, haybale and a hint of blue cheese. Medium bodied and quite full in the mouth. Tart flavour mix of lemon barley water, washed rind and clove. Dry, spicy finish. Quite bitter for the style. Demands to be drunk in the sun. Quality stuff. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2008 Bottle courtesy of mgermani: Poured a cloudy beige color head with a huge foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of funky yeast is well balance with the floral malt base and the dry European hops. Taste is also a very well balance mix between some spicy and dry European hops (Saaz?), some floral and lightly sweet Belgian malt and a controlled funky yeast strain. Full body with great carbonation makes this an easily drinking beer with loads of character. This should be my every day beer but unfortunately I don’t have access to it on a regular basis. Pours hazy orange with white head. Orange zest, bread and camembert. Very dry. Expected more fruityness from a saison. BoBoChamp (1424), Gent, Belgium

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers, Gent, Belgium, March 08 and saved for a gloriously sunny day in my back garden like today 08-06-08 Pours hazy golden orange with a huge rapidly rising white foamy monster of a head. lovely lemony yeasty aroma. Great summery refreshing beer, the taste is tingly with a nice tang, some yeasty and citric mostly softened (cooked) lemon other fruits are there but I struggle to determine what they are, in fact I’m just enjoying this so here endeth my rating. Very good beer. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Pours a brilliant & hazy peachy-orange with a full white head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma is definitely funky and spicy, it’s got that vague septic taste that I come across ever so occasionally but just enough to enrich and not off-put. I suspect this is what is meant by "barnyard". Lovely spicy taste, nice sharp spicy/hop bite with sweet malt backbone. Spicy finish. Nice creamy body, good carbonation. What’s wrong with this beer? Um... the price? The fact that it doesn’t flow from the tap in my kitchen sink? Either this is more sessionable than the Dupont Vieille Provision or my tastebuds have evolved since I last tasted it. Excellent beer, kudos to Gerry for bringing it in!
