Skunky, rubber aroma, damn green bottles. Slightly funky, a little bitter. Would be better if the bottle was better cared for. GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2009 The beer pours out a cloudy golden yellow, tight white 2" head, visible carbonation present with nice retention during this session. Earthy aroma, like a lemony mush pile, woody with some spicy peppery notes. The flavor had a fantastic peppery/lemon 1-2 punch, more wood and earth, lightly bitter and a fantastic bright finish. Great beer for a hot Summer day. I must have drank the bottle in a little under an hour. shawnm213 (1020), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Bottle from Whole Foods. Poured a really lovely golden yellow with lively carbonation and a solid white head that held. The aroma is an easy indicator of what’s to come in the flavor. The carbonation and the tart dryness (lemons, orange, paprika) of this beer make it incredibly refreshing on a hot summer night. illidurit (898), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 19, 2009 On tap at Stone. Nice gold color with a cap of thick white froth. Subtle spicy aroma, cloves and pepper, lemons, and grain. Flavor is similar with a grainy base, lemony wheat notes, and a dry, peppery finish. Perfect balance and interplay between flavors are what make this the quintessential saison. Refreshing and drinkable. Jsawyer (287), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Poured a bold rocky white head with a very pale golden body that produced significant lacing. Aroma hinted toward funk, but was rather sweet and mellow, banana, orange, lemon zest, pear, pepper, and a little woody. Flavor was sweet lemony pepper, a tease of funk, floral, and slightly woody. Altogether light, quite subtle and thirst quenching
