Slightly hazy gold, healthy frothy head. Pleasant light grainy aroma with plenty of citrus and ripe light fleshy fruits too. Pleasant carbonation, fruity retronasals in the mouth. Body is both light grains and a lovely almost blonde-like crisp and sharp bitterness accompanying that. Finish follows the taste, quite a citrussy hoppy bite, and lovely milky light malts. Classic traditional saison, the target everyone should aim for. drjay44 (803), Salida, Colorado, USA

Pours a lovely huge head (thanks to bottle conditioning) of long duration, over a cloudy golden (SRM 10) body.....nose of light spice, cardamom, allspice and honey....tastes initially of mild apple apricot, then evolves to lingering mild bitterness, dry throughout....mouth feel is light to medium. The overall presentation is a light refreshing, but complex ale. beerferver (2), Maryland, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 19, 2009 Updated: May 20, 2009Best of the Belgian Farmhouse Ales. No other can match its exceptional balance of lightly-sweet malt and slightly citrus ’new-mown-hay’ hops, sparkling effervesence and complex aroma. This beer defines "Wallonia twang" - the unique, funky, horse-blankety character of farmhouse ales. By the case, can be had for $7.45 per 750ml bottle; worth every penny and more. Pours a light pale hazy golden body with a white head. Dry fruit, spicy pepper, anise, clove, and rye. A nice floral but earth toned hoppiness. Soft but still aggressively hopped. Awesome brew. phukktifano (159), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 15, 2009 Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy yellow golden with a large frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a very strong clove and spicy malt with a lot of yeast and wheat. Good sticky lacing along the glass. Thick mouthfeel with a citrus taste with clove, yeast and tart with a very dry lingering finish. A very good saison from Dupont.
