Looks: Cloudy gold body with a thin disappearing white fizz. Aroma: Skunk and must with the opening changing to crisp, fresh citrus and candy sugars. Taste: Vibrant earth and sugar. Dry and effervescent with a mild hop spice. michael-pollack (2685), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Bottle: Aroma of yeast, cloves, slight citrus, malts, and spices. Poured gold/yellow/orange in color with a big, frothy, white head that lasted throughout. Very hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of yeast, sugar, slight spices, white pepper, and slight citrus. Medium body. Tingly, dry texture. Lively carbonation. Fresh, yeasty, slight citrus and pale malt finish is very dry and delicious. nickd717 (1348), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2009 On tap at Toronado. It’s the season for some saison (i.e. summer) - or at least it was when I reviewed this first. Golden yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is yeast and funk. Crisp, fruity, yeasty, earthy taste and a dry finish. It would be great to have one of these on a hot summer day, or 7 of these when I wake up on a Monday morning. mpersinger (183), , California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 3, 2009 On draft. Deep straw color, effervescent with slightest haze.
Yeasty, earlh and malt goodness to aroma and flavor, with more mineral taste and bolder body than typical for style. Finish dries out. doublea (16), , California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2009 On tap @ beachwood bbq. Pours clear bronze, slight head. Aroma is saison - earth, yeast, foral hops.
Very drinkable, and a very standard saison - citrus, hops, yeast, spice, earth, slightly dry finish. Nothing jumping out to WOW me, but a good beer.

Packed with flavor and more awesomeness, and a nice, dry finish. Awesome saison. Still not sure what that means, but aight. gte620v (29), Georgia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 25, 2009 9oz; Tap at The BookHouse. My first Belgian farmhouse. Initial taste is similar to a fruity white beer, but the sourness and highly bitter kick quickly follow. Very interesting flavor, but not the most pleasant-tasting beer. ajm (926), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Tap at Lucky Baldwin’s, another of Brian’s wistful beers. I was kind of intimidated by such a classic, but it’s one of the great support columns of the style so I knew I was in good hands. Bright yellow gold with a neat white head. Smells of lemon and zest, flour, grass and dust. Crisp flavor of drawn out Belgian hop and very delicate malt balance. Mildly lemony, mildly grassy. Ends pretty decidedly but on indistinct flavor. Probably the hoppiness is the finish.
