Commercial Description:
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Corked 750ml bottle. BB 11-2010 Cloudy orange-straw body. Dense lasting white head and lace. Fragrant aromatics; whilst the biologique, was very lemony, this is more intergrated, possibly less aggressive on the nose. Bittter orange, unripe peach and nectarine, earthy hop spice and grass, array of spice, clove, coriander, lemon pepper, subtle funky cheese/mould character. Lively carbonation, creamy, full bodied with good depth and restrained acidity. Cereal malt background, hint of vanilla and hay, intergrated stone fruit and citrus flavours, unripe peach and grapefruit seem to stand out, spice melds with the fruit, clove (obviously) and pepper, more to it with a lemon grassiness about it makes me a bit confused whether its a hop or yeast characteristic. Slightly woody dry finish, vinous overall character without overbearing alcohol. This is really tasty. I think it helped trying another Saison beforehand, because I now have a better feel for the style, and its certainly one you can falll in love with quite quickyl Fantastic stuff!

Cloudy light gold color with a very thick golden-white head. Aroma is woody with hints of lemon, clove, and cinnamon. Bitter but smooth and very carbonated. Has a grassy taste with hints of bubblegum.

This was cool. Yellow pour, with white head. Very citrusy and spicy. Light body. There was some particles in the bottom of the glass....not terribly sure what to think of that..but I like this.

Style and Glass: Saison; tulip ABV, Volume & Calories: 6.5 % in 12.7fl oz. estimated at 150 C Purchased at: Canal’s Burlington, NJ for $3.79 after discount Aroma: nice, hay, fields, wheat, rain, alcohol. 8 out of 10. Visuals: okay design, brilliant, golden, clear, thin white head, fine lace. 5 out of 5. Taste: very well balanced, low malt, low hops, low strength, high craft. 8 out of 10. Palate: high quality, smooth texture, long malty finish. 4 out of 5. Overall: A very nicely craftedfarmhouse ale — perhaps the best, I’d have it again, not nearly a favorite, medium value, high craft. 16 out of 20.

Tremendous bubbly head on top of a pale yellow hazy body. Ridiculous sediment. Not very appealing. Aroma was fantastic. Hoppy, citrusy, and mostly yeast. Taste was not as rewarding. Pretty typical saison. Slightly alcoholic and fizzy on the palate. This is not a style I enjoy.

Pours with a tall white head. Aroma of herbal fruitiness with a hint of caramel. Starts a little sweet, then the sour hits and fades to an herbal finish. My first Saison so wasn’t sure what to think. Not a big fan of the sour flavor and the herbal/astringent aftertaste, however it is strangely refreshing and I like the complexity.

Bottle and later on draught at lowlander. Alround rating for both times was nearly identical: Pale malts, small spicey character, peppery, fruity yeasty character, pritty malty alround. Not too exciting.
