Commercial Description:
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

bottle from monopoly outlet, Oslo. Pours hazy orange with large white head. Carrotjuice and scotch whiskydistillery on the nose. Nice and dry. I expected more fruityness. Very dry finish

Has anyone ever confused this with a hefeweizen? Color and palate seem very similar. I’ve had this beer plenty of times but my 1st rating of it when the beer is in front of me. Aroma is captivating. Some slight bitter and off flavors on the finish. Floral, hay, summer day in the mountains cool refreshing type of beer, yet still showing a lot of hops. Could see how this could be considered the model all other Saison’s are produced from. There is a weight and concentration I can’t remember any other Saison having. I believe the cork was branded with the year, 2008. Very nice feature.

750mL: Pours a cloudy yellow opaque, big white head, decent lacing. Aroma of flowers, some hops, subtle aroma. Flavor reminiscent of Hoegaarden, very strong perfume, frothy, warm, good mouthfeel.

Well balanced, smells of hoppy yeast yet subtle and building. The moment the 750 ml bottle popped it summoned a German genie, Jens on my left. I spoke of love an politics he whistled and gestured with his hands while pruning a smile on my face. The story is I had a good time with this one.

2007 corked 375 ml bottle. Pours hazy gold with a fluffy "ice-cream scoop" like head that lasts for a long time. Smells of yeast, pepper, grain, slight funk. Tastes extremely nice. Refreshing and light flavors of yeast, pepper, malted grain, alight funk in a nice balance. Great saison. 1000th rating for this beer!

Cloudy bright gold color with a huge foamy and very persistent head. Complex nose with notes of wheat, bread, fruit, spices and a little grass. Similarly complex taste with a citrus like flavor up front followed by notes of pepper and other spices, light malts, a tartness, a slight sourness, and again, hints of grass. The flavors are very well balanced and nothing overwhelms anything else. A very pleasant sipping beer. Yummy.

On tap at Milltown, Carrboro. Ah, what a lovely beer. The hazy golden pour and the still, serene head are impressive. The aroma is delightful, with mild funk, yeast, lemon, and a dash of pepper - just what I want from a saison. The mouthfeel is very lively, and it tastes even better than it smells. It’s hard not to love this brew.

750. Honey brown pour and hazy with big fizzy white head. Aroma: citrus, wheat, tropical fruit. Flavor is the same but a little bit more tangy; no alcohol. Light and fizzy on palate. Overall: good and refreshing; a bit overrated, but good none the less (especially for summer).
