Commercial Description:
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

bottle. So far my least favorite of the very small amount of Belgian’s I have had. Nice aroma of light fruits.Very cloudy yellow.Taste was too yeasty for me.a mix of spice and sour fruit taste. I didn’t mind this brew but it left me with a sour beer face and tart mouth feel.

750ml. My favorite Saison by far and one of my favorites overall. This is my benchmark Saison going forward. I’ve had 3 of these and it has been consistent each time - with an amazing farmhouse aroma that forces the lips to purse in anticipation and the nose to beg for another shot. Pours a nice hazy burnt sienna with a big head that maintains the fragrance. The taste does not dissapoint one bit. So many minor flavors in symbiotic bliss excite the tastebuds. Very earthy, dusty, farmhouse aura throughout. Excellent.

25/05 0.33 l bottle from belgianshop.com. My first saison was this, very good example of the style so let’s see. Poured murky golden body with big white head. Very nice yeasty aroma, banana, lot of spices like cloves, cinnamon, fresh grass etc. Very "saturating", meaning flavor could be very full. But nope, it is extremely thin. I was confused at first, then started to reveal some bitterness combined with fruity sweetness. Finish is almost non existing, some lemon. I guess that is what saison is meant to be, although I don’t like it much, definitely missing lot of body for my taste!

33cl bottle shared with and courtesy of heavy (thanks!)
A lighter murky apricot colour with a big thick white head that went away slow leaving huge lacing. A very nice dusty spicy aroma with some creamy fruity yoghurtey nose. Notes say "kinda like banana but isn’t". Hah. Still, couldn’t wait to taste it. And when I did a nice lacticity revealed itself surrounding by some bitterness that went into the aftertaste and that reminded me of a lighter bitter lemon (so quinine I guess). Some fine lemon and just a bit eggey at times. All in all nice ’nuff, tasty, complex in a way but it didn’t rock my world. Guess I should try it from the 75cl bottle next time.

Bottle from Mattias - thanks buddy! Everything I wanted from this beer is in here - whiffs of Belgium yeast, allspice, sweet pears and peaches and green grassy hops. The stunning natural carbonation combines with a delicious citric acidity and cereal malts to make this an eminently drinkable beer. I love this style!

Slight hazy gold. Thick creamy long lasting head. Sweetness, than a spiciness. Thick and full.

Rating #100. I let the gf choose between this and London Porter for #100 - 12 oz. bottle from John’s Grocery (Iowa City, IA). Pours a very hazy straw yellow color with a substantial white head. Aromas are of belgian yeast, citrus, spices, a touch of grassiness, and bit of sweetness. Initial taste is light, with a bit of sweet citrus, spiciness, and a dryness that is it’s most noticeable characteristic. It really does taste like a barn smells (A concept I never understood before). Dry bitter finish that I really like followed by a slightly sweet mellow aftertaste. Complex yet was able to grasp it. A great beer to discover on #100. Cheers all!

375ml bottle. Clear straw yellow with a huge rocky head. Dusty yeasty and grassy hoppy aroma with some honey malt sweetness. Dry and peppery spiced flavor. Dusty yeast with light malt sweetness and a slightly soapy, hoppy finish. High carbonation with a lighter body. Its pretty nice stuff, and quite refreshing and flavorful without being overbearing.
