Commercial Description:
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Was not a fan of this one. Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium to large sized white carbonated head. Nose is funky, spicy, sour, and tart. Taste is funky spicy, woody, earthy, and bitter. I was just not really impressed with this beer.

Wow. This beer is damn good. Poured into tulip glass, it formed a beautiful solid-sticky white foam. Cloudy dark-blonde body, fruit-spice aroma, tart-smooth on the tongue. I love Perm’s April 28 description of this beer.

330ml bottle into a Duvel glass. pours a hazy amber with a foamy white head on top. nose of coriander, lemongrass, and some unidentifiable sourness. extremely refreshing to drink it has a citrusy flavor with some yeast, a bit of tartness and just a light touch of spice. finishes very dry and tart with a bit of a barnyard funk. remains quite balanced throughout. very enjoyable.

22oz bomber from Knightly Spirits. Pours a hazy amber with a towering white head that lasts a long time and leaves crazy lacing. Nose is very spicy and with a slightly bit of sour funky, definite sour citrus aroma there and some notes of coriander and clove. Very complex aroma. Taste is absolutely phenomenal. You can see why this is regarded as a true classic and the example to follow of the style. Up front there is tart citrus and clove and a great bready yeastiness to the middle with a very smooth mouthfeel and a super crisp dry finish with a touch of bitter hops to cleanse the palate. This to my mind is one of the most balanced beers I’ve had. There is an awesome funk aftertaste with hints of cheese and nuts and a little bit of a woodiness. Truly a world class beer.

Poured this from a 750 ml bottle into tulip glasses. We had this with some Thai food, and it was a perfect match for the meal. This beer rivaled Duvel for it’s magnificent pillowy head. Thick foam towered in the glass, marked by giant moon craters. Excellent lacing all the way to the bottom of the glass. Aromas typical of Belgian ales. Fruity, with hints of banana and cloves and the distinct Belgian yeastiness. Flavor was excellent. Fruity and slightly sweet to start off, with a clean, crisp slightly bitter finish to cleanse the palate. It went exceptionally well with our dinner. Light, refreshing mouthfeel. Overall, an excellent beer and the best example of the style I have had, barely edging out Hennepin. A superb choice for a dinner companion, especially with Thai food.

Yellow gold, huge white fluffy head. Funky light sweet malt aroma, bready yeast, lemon undertones. Not balanced. Flavor is light lemon zest, yeast, sweet hops. This beer grows on you, better once it settles.

Hazy golden pour with nice white head. Sweet, fruity, spicy aroma. A little bit of nice funk. Crisp, refreshing: the taste of summer.

06 bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden color with some rising bubbles and a thick white head that left nice lacing. Crisp nose with some nice citrus (lemon rind), coriander and some other spices, yeast, and some wheat. Crisp entry with a smooth citrus character leads into a funky, yeasty middle with some nice spiciness light hops on the finish with some more undertones of citrus. Very nice flavor profile that is complimented nicely by the mouthfeel of the beer. Light, crisp, and drying on the finish. Very good beer.
