Commercial Description:
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

33cl. bottle at home: Pours a nice rich gold with tall white head. Aromas of bread, yeast and some yellow ripe fruits. Lightly spicy yeast character mixes well with the fruit and touch of earthy hops. Carbonation explodes on your tongue creating a mouthful of froth. Earthy fruits with strong yeast character. Citrus in the middle with a sprinkling of grassy hops. The hop character leads to a nice black pepper edge. The pepper finds its way to the back of your throat with the help of the carbonation. Some of the same bready malt character that is in the Saison Dupont Biologique is in here as well but with a lighter touch. Nice long peppery and yeasty finish with a touch of sweet bread.

375 mL bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a big white foam head. Aroma of fruit, spice, yeast, and light hops. Taste is very dry, almost like champagne. Very earthy, with fruit, yeast, and a little funk. Mouth is fairly light with lots of carbonation. Very nice beer and a great saison.

From a 750 ml corked bottle, directly to a trappist style glass, this long anticipated, lovely brew is topped with a frothy head of mountainous proportions, leaving, of course, plenty of Belgian lace, wrapping my glass like garland on a Christmas tree. A hazy light orangish body with a lively bead greet you, as well as an aroma overflowing with fresh bitter orange hops remniscent of a German lager (Tettnang, Hallertau). Bubblegum, cloves, marshmallow, and pineapple all compete for your nose’s attention. At first taste, spices such as cloves, pepper, and anise mingle with the funkiness of the house yeast, while fresh, mellow drying hops make for a bitter, spicy finish. The tastes are all very lively and interesting, and the finish is very short, making this beer easily drinkable, refreshing, and a perfect summertime match for food and warm weather. With the combination of hazy yeast and spicy hops, this beer honestly marries the best features of a fresh Czech pilsner and a light, German wiessbier.

First pour is brilliant gold with a gigantic head. The second pour gets a bit cloudy & darker but the head remains the same. Nose is yeast & cork, some either peach or apricot. There is some spice/pepper going on which plays very well with the other aspects of the nose. Flavor is a nice hay-like malt, more of that cork (its a good thing!), pepper and fruits from the yeast throughout. A bit of alcohol comes out in the end, but just enough to dry everything out. Dried fruits in the finish, along with yeast and a whisper of malt sweetness. I don’t know of a better Saison.. Why don’t I drink this one more often?

I’m finially getting around to rating one of my favorites. 750mL bottle, pours golden with yeast circulating around this brew like a lava lamp. Massive white head that just lingers forever forming craters as it slowing dissapates. Aroma is fruity citrus, yeast, and floral hops. Mouthfeel is rich and soft, it almost feels like cotton with carbonation. Flavor is top notch, highly carbonated , citrus, hops, lemon, malt all working in a harmonious balance. It’s a freakin’ party in my mouth.

Bottle, corked and caged. Pours a rich and cloudy golden yellow with a substantial white head. The aroma is sweet, sour, and spicy. The tast is excellent with so much carbonation it does wonders on your palate. This is my first saison. Very nice.

On tap at DBA. Poured a cloudy golden amber, with a fruity nose, and a dry bitter finish. I am now pretty convinced that this is a style of beer that I personally don’t love.

33 cl bottle. Hazy orange beer with a creamy white head. Aroma is belgian spice with a bit of dust. Very spicy flavor with some citrus fruit in there. A dry finish. Complex and tasty, but nothing outstanding.
