Commercial Description:
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Sampled at a craft beer tasting at Curly’s Bar and Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL.. Poured a cloudy, straw hue with a fizzy, white head and spotty lacing. The aroma was meaty yeast and some floral and spice notes. The flavor added some lemon grass, light hop bitterness, just a hint of tartness, and high carbonation. The finish was pleasantly dry. A benchmark for the style.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a tall, thick white head. Aroma of dank, deep earth tones, with hints of spice, and sweet fruits. Medium body with a clean finish. Decent Saison.

(bottle) pours a lightly hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy white head. aroma is very buttery, with light hints of barnyard and powdered sugar. flavour is a little less butter, with notes of grass, honey and floral hops. medium body and carbonation, with a semi-dry finish. quite undrinkable, probably need a re-rate.

750 ml. Picked up at Macs on Spring and West Peachtree. I am sure this bottle has been sitting in the store forever! Cheap pale lager look, but with a very fluffy head! Slightly orange, but leans more towards the straw color. Grassy yet subtle fruit aroma as well?! Slight yeast flavor, that slowly comes through. Grass starts to disappear and the fruits start to come through more as the beer warms up. Fairly nuanced aroma. Wow, some live carbonation on that one. Has a nice fruit flavor that turms into a spice and mellow bitterness. Finishes slightly bitter with some yeast. Fairly dry finish. Not very creamy, but I haven’t tried many saisons that are overly so. Leaves some decent lacing. Overall, pretty good. I haven’t tried this in years.

On tap at The Back Abbey. Pours a hazy straw color with a rocky white head and champagne like carbonation. Aroma is spicy and yeasty with a touch of under ripe fruits. Flavor is citrusy with a very mild sweetness, a good deal of spice some earth and a good dry finish. Light to medium bodied with a lively palate.
