BitchesBrew (699), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Mar 12, 2008 [750 ml] Opened with some serious force. Lightly hazy copper color with some strong lacing. Aroma is quite complex, fruity esters and plenty of funk. Flavors are quite malty up front; caramel sweetness balanced with a strong herbal hop bitterness. Finishes with a distinctive "roeselare" character. Funky and dry at the very end.
thornecb (1130), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours brown into a snifter. Fluffy beige micro head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Pit fruit and pepper aromas. Crisp and well balanced. Fruity upfront with a dry hops and sour brett finish. Quite nice. ucusty (1210), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 22, 2008 Dark amber pour with a rocky white head and drippy lace. Fruity aroma almost spoiled fruit . Sour up fruit with a tease of leather. This is a very underrated beer after4ever (1751), Brier, Washington, USA Sep 21, 2008 750, corked and baled. Pours a grainy and opaque dark brown with a towering, sudsy, surging off-white head. Enormous brown apple, green apple, brown sugar, and sweet brown bread nose. Creamy medium body with prickly carb. All the sweet fruity and bready notes come back from the nose. This is a nice beer, brewed creatively and well, that just doesn’t add up to much in the way of refreshment or captivation of the interest. waolsen (993), Littleton, Colorado, USA Sep 20, 2008 bottle. chestnut pour with frothy off white head that lasts for ever. lacing. light aroma of apple, spice and funk. slightly sour. fruit is prominant. barnyard funk. well balanced. nice. heemer77 (3771), Savannah, Missouri, USA Sep 11, 2008 Deep red gernet body with a light white peach flesh colored head. The aroma is lightly spicy with some cinnamon and apples. There was also some funky leather goodness. The taste is leathery with a sugary sweet cola finish. There is also some black cherry and hints of clove in the finish. Interesting and sweet, this tastes like a sweeter fruit beer. I woudl like this one more if it was a little more dry.
