Commercial Description:
Saku has enriched the flavoured trend beverage market with the new DLight. New Saku DLight is an even more refreshing, less bitter, slightly carbonated, and pomegranate-flavoured beer beverage. In consumer surveys, the unprecedented pomegranate flavour won a surprising, but unrivalled victory on the Estonian market. Complying with consumer wishes, the new DLight has been created with higher alcohol content: 4% vol. Trend beverages, which are gaining popularity in Europe as well, are good alternatives to stronger ciders, long drinks, and vodka cocktails at events where stronger drinks are not appropriate. The name Saku DLight is derived from the English word “delight” and is reflected in the entire being of the drink.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is pale red. Aroma and taste are artificial berries and apple. Nice and sweet. Light watery. Much like a soda.

Is it beer? Not! Red color, artifical aroma. tasted like after shave water for men. Those drinks produced only for chikdren, who want drink something alcoholic and beer for them are so bitter. Bad! Bad!

This drink is a complete disgrace. There’s bugger all evidence of anything that could even be vaguely described as beer in it, it’s just a fruit-flavoured weak alcohol delivery medium. IMHO not a beer. Whichever marketeer invented this abomination should just go out round the back and shoot himself in the back of the head 37 times.

This does not taste like beer and if you didn’t know that it has beer in it then you would be hard pushed to guess as the taste of beer is very subtle and faint. It is very sweet and would actually be quite a refreshing soft drink if it was just the pomegranate juice but as a ’beer’ I find it hard to take seriously. Hopefully it’s a gimmick that will not take off.

Bottled (BB 11/2007)
Pale red color, small white head. Artifical aroma of blood grape and red currant. Dry blood grape (or pomegranate) flavor, only lightly malty. More like reasonably tasty soft drink but not a beer.

Bottled. Strange pinkish red colour, not much head. Aroma is grapefruits, redfruits and berries along with some mild lagery notes. Flavour is mainly grapefruit and red fruits/berries.

(Bottled) Clear, pale red color with a small, white head. Sweet aroma of straw/raspberry and pomegranate. Very sugary-sweet flavor of artificial pomegranate and strawberry and nothing else. Light-bodied, lemonadey-carbonated palate. This is pure lemonade - nothing else. It should be illegal to sell this kind of crap as "beer", especially as it’s mainly aimed for children!
