Commercial Description:
Saku's oldest beer.
Saku Hele is a light special brew with a strong taste of hops and a pleasant aroma, which has been developed together with Czech master brewers. Saku Hele is brewed according to one of Saku’s oldest recipes in honour of Valerian Baggo, the lord of Saku Manor, who established a truly industrial brewery from the manor’s small brewery.

Yellowy colour, medium head. Well balanced, nice hops aroma and flavour, some bitterness. Thankfully not alcoholic on a hot day; quite good overall.

Of Saku’s pale beers, this is the fullest and hoppiest one. That said, another Estonian brewery, Sillamae, has a far superior Hele.

(Bottled, Parim enne 06/2004) Paleish lager color with medium, foamy head. Hoppy, pils-like aroma, especially when pouring. Nicely bitter, slightly sweet flavor with balanced maltiness, and a bitter finish. Quite pleasant and refreshing, medium-bodied palate. Not bad at all, and way better than I expected!

Golden, medium not completely diminishing head. Flowery, slightly fruity and clean aroma. Carbonated palate, light to medium body. Bitter, a bit dry flavor with notes of fruits and esters. I was a bit disappointed to this one but maybe beer was a bit plain thanks to best before-date.

Bottled. Clear yellow, white bubbly head which disappears quickly. Very hoppy aroma with some sweetish hints. Strong malitsh and hoppy taste. A bit dry finish, standard lager and rich carbonation.

(Bottle 50 cl) Golden with a fairly huge and stable head. Quite hoppy but the hops don’t really that much aroma. Pretty decent beer actually, just completely lacking personality. Exciting back-label in Estonian - I’m completely lost in that language.... 071102

Medium white lasting head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Hardly any aroma at all. Dryish papery mealy taste with resiny rubbery notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry grassy mealy aftertaste. Boring. (0.5l bottle at Hell Hunt, Tallinn.)
