Commercial Description:
Saku Kuld – a modern classic, the absolute elite of Estonian beers, a combination of Saku’s hundreds-of-years-old brewing traditions, and the newest technology. With a rich taste, foam, and aroma, a delicate balance of freshness and mildness characterizes the taste of Saku Kuld. The freshness comes from Nordic oat malt and velvety smoothness is added to the refined bouquet by Hallertau hops. In addition, Saku Kuld is characterized by a clear colour and thick firm foam. Saku Kuld is sold in unique bottles with a relief of the Saku arms.

Bottled:
Pours golden with a fluffy head. Grainy aroma with a short whiff of malt. Watery flavour with a dry-ish grass and citrus finish.

500ml embossed bottle from Beers of Europe. An unremarkable pale lager. Few hops and bare malt. Soft watery biscuit. It’s drinkable, and it’s not ugly, but it is wholly unremarkable.

Medium fine lasting white head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Fruity hoppy aroma. Dry grassy pine needle hop taste with metallic papery notes. Thinnish mouthfeel. Same aftertaste. Comes close to being very good, but falls short because of lack of taste. (0.33l draft at Hell Hunt, Tallinn.)

Lockar mer för sitt ursprung än smak. En sällsamt ordinär lager som inte sticker ut åt något håll, försvinner bara ner i strupen utan väsen. Tämjd och kuvad - går tryggt i ledband och lämnar inget avtryck.

Bottled from Systembolaget. A collapsing big-bubbled coarse head over a plain pilsener golden body. Bready grain aroma, kind of sweetish, with a note of straw-like hops. Carbonated, light malty body. Medium sweet, modest hop bitterness. Faint fruitiness, medicine notes. Light-bodied and fizzy. Metal and co2 in the ending. Not a favorite.

500 ml bottle. It poured a clear golden liquid with a small foam that left a little lacing. The smell was slightly sweet and had hints of malt and bread. The taste was fizzy with some malt and a low bitterness. It lacks allot of the bad tastes I relate to lager, but it’s a bit weak in taste and smell to reach a higher scroe. Pretty decent lager though.
