Commercial Description:
Saku Kuld – a modern classic, the absolute elite of Estonian beers, a combination of Saku’s hundreds-of-years-old brewing traditions, and the newest technology. With a rich taste, foam, and aroma, a delicate balance of freshness and mildness characterizes the taste of Saku Kuld. The freshness comes from Nordic oat malt and velvety smoothness is added to the refined bouquet by Hallertau hops. In addition, Saku Kuld is characterized by a clear colour and thick firm foam. Saku Kuld is sold in unique bottles with a relief of the Saku arms.

500ml bottle from Alko in Hætta. Thanks to Elisabeth. Noisy pour that left a pale yellow body with a filmy layer. Grass-fruity to the nose. Citric hints in flavour with dry malts beneath and turning rather sweet in the ending. Fizzy and foamy in the mouth. Lively carbonated (shared at a drinking session in Tårnrommet, Tromsø 29.04.2009).

Bottle, 50 cl - Pale yellow beer with a lazing white head. Aroma is malty with hints of grass and banana. Flavor is sweet and slightly sticky with hints of corn. Medium bodied and much better than I expected.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Golden body with frothy white head. Sweet and fruity nose. Taste dry, malty. Similar to Amstel beer. Citrus in the finish. Okay. New country rating though.
