Commercial Description:
Saku Kuld – a modern classic, the absolute elite of Estonian beers, a combination of Saku’s hundreds-of-years-old brewing traditions, and the newest technology. With a rich taste, foam, and aroma, a delicate balance of freshness and mildness characterizes the taste of Saku Kuld. The freshness comes from Nordic oat malt and velvety smoothness is added to the refined bouquet by Hallertau hops. In addition, Saku Kuld is characterized by a clear colour and thick firm foam. Saku Kuld is sold in unique bottles with a relief of the Saku arms.

A 0.5L bottle from local Alko. Some hoppiness in the nose. White fast disappearing head. Mild fruitiness in the taste (lemon). Also some taste of grass.

I’d like to think the brewery was named after the mighty Kazushi Sakuraba. Doubtful though. Pale golden with an almost non-existent head. Thin, malty, slight bitterness and not for me.

0.5 l bottle. Golden color with small head. Sweetish, malty and honeyish aroma with some herbal hops. Malty, honeyish and a bit papery flavor with low bitterness and hint of herbal hop flavor. The bottle is fresh but tastes a bit old already. No balance, needs more bitterness.

Bottle 0.5 l. Pale golden. Honeyish, malty, slightly alcoholic sweet and very subtly hoppy. Not that great. Kinda liked the export version better.
