Bottle from the LCBO. Once again, our benevolent alcohol overlords in Ontario present us with another Eastern European lager. Will it be any different from the others, I wonder? Pale gold colour, aroma is slightly grainy but with some nice herbal notes, body is thin, flavour is simple but not unpleasant. Yeah, pretty much what I expected...

Terrible---sweet syrupy swill. No head retention. Went flat real quick. Dumped it!

Why this is listed as a pale lager is beyond me. It’s a decent Bohemian Pilsener, golden with a modest bubbly head. The aroma is a bit light, grainy with some bready malt and earthy & floral hops. Nice carbonation, lively in the mouth. The flavor is adjunct free, sweet and malty with a hint of apple and a nice hop balance. Eastern European lagers aren’t necessarily automatically bad.

Standard head. Little smell, not much flavour but there are s o m e malt and some not so displaced sugar that makes this beer slightly better than the average bulk lager.

Bought it just because I thought it to be a new country for me, but alas, I’ve had Estonian beers before. Looking good, though. Aroma is somewhat dusty with a slight hint of malts. Flavour, though, is not that very positive. That standard cooked/processed taste. Sweet and sour. Thin body. The best is the aftertaste. There is none.

Can, in Norway (040723). Golden. Aroma and flavor like a typical pilsener. OK.

Bottle from LCBO. Golden yellow body, with a small white head. Sweet grainy aroma is non-descript, flavour is likewise. Average to light palate.

500ml brown bottle. Poured golden, loose white head with a soapy consistancy. Dusty, grainy aroma. Flavour was grain-forward, some sweet corny notes, but also with some grassy hop and small metallic bite in the finish.
