I tried this beer on May 8, 2008 after purchasing a couple of bottles from the Queens Quay LCBO outlet (one was given to lenusik). The beer poured a very pale golden yellow with a bubbly white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was very sick grainy malt with a slight hoppy hint. The mouthfeel was medium bodied. The flavour was very grassy.

330ml Can-Light golden in colour with not much of a head and not much of an aroma but what I can detect is malt and a metallic tinge. Slightly buttery and bitter taste with malty and a shoty aftertaste. As dull as dishwater.

500 ml bottle from JesseM. hope you enjoyed your friday night Jesse. pours golden with a big white head. aromas are gassy hops and some grain. actually those aromas are much better then expected. flavours are enjoyable and balanced but this is still a lager and not really my thing. that being said i will drink this a lot in the summer. thanks Jesse for leaving this one behind.

App.: Clear, medium straw with a moderate white head. Aroma: Very light grain and cereal, light grassy hops, mineral-like. Palate: Macro medium for body and carbonation. Flav.: Cereal, grains and light grassy hops.

Gold coloured body with big white head. Light malt and hops in aroma. Very smooth easy drinking taste. Mainly malt and hops in taste with a semi-bitter finish.

Don’t drink much for numbers anymore, but this one was for a whole new country, Estonia. Well, it was indeed Estonian Budweiser and it was pretty poor in aroma and flavor: adjuncts, corn, metallic oxidation, more corn and grains. Mouthfeel was fully carbonated, but otherwise it drank like, well, nevermind. I’m always game for a new country, but I didn’t beat up my liver finishing this one.

The production date on my bottle says it was made only two weeks ago. For an import to be that fresh from the LCBO is insane! Pours the nice gold colour with a large, frothy white head. Aroma: Some grassy hops on top of some grainy malts, not much going on, but nothing offensive. Taste: Not half as bad as the low rating will make you think. Nice malty sweetness up front, a tad grainy which I love in my lagers, which leaves a sort of wet feeling on the tongue, followed by some hop presence in the finish, followed by just a touch of skunk. I can’t believe my luck that I got a fresh sample, so I guess this is pretty much as good as this beer can be. And it’s pretty decent. It’s nothing spectacular, so give it a freaking break people, it’s just a lager, nothing more. I’m sure there’s better from Estonia, but this does seem to be getting a rough ride here. EDIT The new canned version is actually really, really good, a big improvement. Very soft, like a Helles, with a perfect blend of pale malts and hops, with a great floral aroma.
