[vintage 2007]
Pours almost black with just some red edges. A big, frothy, off-white head - fine duration. Very pleasant sweet maltiness, some chocolate and roasted malts. Medium carbonation, super mouthfeel - good dryness. Flavour starts with just a tad of metal, but afterwards there are super fine roasted malts, dry hops, chocolate. Super fantastic long dry aftertaste. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 9, 2009 50 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a dense, yet somewhat fluffy and tan head. Hardroasted malt aroma and with a light alcohol presence.Chocolate, hard roasted malt and surprisingly sweet flavoured. Holds a minor metallic house character. mikkopen (250), Oulu, Finland Dec 16, 2008 500 ml bottle. Deep, dark reddish brown colour, thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, plum and coffee; rather dry. Roasted, malty flavour, with liquorice and coffee. Medium-bodied. Dry finish, with a little alcohol warmth. The best Saku product I have tasted, a pleasant surprise. TET (226), Finland Dec 13, 2008 Very dark beer with light beige head. Aroma is roasted, quite dry and slightly sour. Flavour is balanced, quite roasted, some liquirice and first slightly sweet flavour that dries very quicly. Medium or full-bodied beer and nicely oily to drink. Saku Porter is typical baltic porter without disappointments, but still I would hope for something more to make this more interesting. Archibaldo de la Cruz (394), Finland Nov 28, 2008 Dark brown colour with a brown head. Roasted malt aroma with some liquorice. The flavour is roasted malt, liquorice, coffee and with hint of dark chocolate. Medium-bodied and slightly bitter aftertaste. Maybe a bit too thin to be a great beer but still quite enjoyable.
