Commercial Description:
The most delightful way to enjoy Saku Porter would be in front of a fireplace or in candle light during those long and dark winter nights. This beer keeps you warm all through the coldest time of the year. Saku Porter is the ideal accompaniment to roasted meats and game. The fact that porter is also perfectly suited to light various desserts, especially those containing chocolate, may not be that commonly known. The ideal serving temperature for Saku Porter is rather high, 12–14 °C, a typical quality for dark beers. Saku Porter, a unique dark beer with strong taste, is brewed of water, caramel, light and coffee malts, hop and yeast, however, only once a year – for Christmas. Similarly to classical porters, Saku Porter is a strong (alc. 7.5 % of volume) full-bodied beer. A special jewel to Saku Porter is its high, rich, brownish foam.

Red hints in a deep, dark brown body with a fleeting tan head. Fruit and chocolate in the nose and a light sweet flavor. Decent drink.

(5ooml bottle) Pours a thin, white head with a copper body. Slight whiskey nose with marshmellow and bubblegum on the palate. Very interesting porter.

(Bottled, 7.5% ABV) Very dark brown color with a medium, completely disappearing, beige head. Roasted, milky-coffeeish aroma with rye and sweet malt. Burned, syrupy-malty, quite bitter and sweetish flavor with black coffee and a hint of dark chocolate. Syrupy, bitter, salty finish. Medium-bodied, somewhat thin and fizzy-carbonated, roasty, slicky and slightly sugary palate. A decent Baltic porter, but with too much color malt and not enough balance. Burned and somewhat thin.

Fairly light colored for a porter. Bubbles sticking to the side of the glass, but they may have more to do with how the glassware is washed than the beer. They diminished after a couple minutes. Rocky, tan head. Fairly, metallic malt aroma. A little spicy. The aroma gets me thinking about all the winter releases I can't wait to drink. A porter with neither chocolate, nor coffee. To be honest, I miss those flavors a little.

Pours with a three-fingered light brown head that leaves a some lace. A cloudy, ruby color. Nose is faintly malty and the carbonation is good. Starts sweet/hoppy and finishes with some hops and bitterness. Medium bodied. The 7.1% ABV is barely noticeable. $2.25 for 500ml.

Deep brown colour. Vinous aroma. Sweetish with some raisin/plum flavours. A bit bitter in the finish.
