Commercial Description:
The most delightful way to enjoy Saku Porter would be in front of a fireplace or in candle light during those long and dark winter nights. This beer keeps you warm all through the coldest time of the year. Saku Porter is the ideal accompaniment to roasted meats and game. The fact that porter is also perfectly suited to light various desserts, especially those containing chocolate, may not be that commonly known. The ideal serving temperature for Saku Porter is rather high, 12–14 °C, a typical quality for dark beers. Saku Porter, a unique dark beer with strong taste, is brewed of water, caramel, light and coffee malts, hop and yeast, however, only once a year – for Christmas. Similarly to classical porters, Saku Porter is a strong (alc. 7.5 % of volume) full-bodied beer. A special jewel to Saku Porter is its high, rich, brownish foam.

Fruity porter with agreat head, nice body & a rich palate. Usually folks buy it, store it for a year or more then drink it. it is a "winetr" brew found usually after mid-November.

Pours brown with a nice ruby red glint to if when held up to the light. Smells of roasted malt, chcocolate, some dark fruit, hints of licorice. Tastes sweet with some figs, chocolate, some peppery splashes, some lirocice and cloves. Very solid brew!

Almost black, slight reddish colour. Thick tan head. Sugary, acidic aroma with hints of resin, chocolate, coffee and dark fruits. Flavour is soy sauce, tar and tobacco. Long malty aftertaste. Some notes of liquorice is present in finish.

My first Baltic Porter. Bottle @ Doug’s, Christmas 2004. Dark brown/orange pour. Very strong woody notes. Full bodied mouthfeel. I didn’t get a lot of alcohol in the taste, just lots of straightforward sweetness. Very good.

Bottle, 7.5%. Mildly bready aroma, I do not get any roasted notes or the like. Black colour, big stable light brown head. The flavour is a lot more powerful than the aroma. Slightly sweet liquorice flavour, turning more bitter before going liquoricy again. Good, sticky mouthfeel. Very nice.

Auburn, slightly darker than an IPA, lighter than an expected porter of any style. Intriguing nose, sour with chocolate and toffee notes. Not even vaguely porter-esque in the traditional style, full of caramel sweetness, some dark fruit, and maybe a bit of chocolate. Finishes dry and a bit sharp, but really isn't at all roasty.
