Palate is medium bodied but dominated by an unusually creamy carbonation. Light malty bready start gives way to good long lasting bitter finish. A nice Pils. alexanderj (2269), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Preferred this one to their helles. Color was a slightly cloudy gold with a foamy head. Aroma was wheaty, yeasty and earthy. Flavor was bready, yeasty and earthy as well, with some herbal elements. A well done version of the style for me. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 8, 2009 Updated: Jan 18, 2009My Bottom Line:
The piquant hoppiness of this most healthy unfiltered Pilsener drives its spicines into the chewy straw of the base malts to create a pillowy and flavorful quencher not unlike its Franconian cousins.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam bobs atop the cloudy blond.
-The nose is draped in herbal hoppiness, yet it is quieter than the flavor profile.
-Their Helles has better malt character (to my tastebuds), but their bodies are very similar.
-The spicy hop bitterness pleasantly lingers.

Comments: Served quite warm this one, but still a crisp, well-constructed pils though with little identity and very filtered for an Austrian lager. Fair bitterness, quite green.

Golden color, slightly hazy, small white head, lace. Light bready hoppy nose. Brewing mash, sweetish unfermented sugars, some hops in the finish. Something I call typical low-end brewpub pils.
