Sweet and fruity, lightly spiced. Soft mouth feel, a bit sugary, OK balance. Seems like Belgian is more this brewer’s style than the English beers he makes. troopie (903), USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Deep rich roasted malt aroma with spicey notes. Dark mahogany color with an off-white head that laced a little. Lightly spiced caramel flavor. No, something a little heavy like cardamom shows up. It is caramel sweet. The finish is sweetish and ight spice. Interesting. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

This holds to be more of a barleywine in my mind. Lacked carbonation and any sense of a dry palate. Cloying dark fruit and caramel flavors up front, without enough dryness in the finish to keep it as drinkable as a good Belgian strong ale. Bad batch? they said it was a gold metal winner, to me it tasted like a flat St. Bernardus 12. Angeloregon (2033), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2007 Small white head with a fruity nose. Prevalent hoppy nose and favorable bitterness. I perceive this to be the way old school beer used to taste. Finished clean and happy. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2006 This was just a killer Belgian. Larry is really into Belgian beer and you can tell me put alot of thought and pride into making this beer. Lots of dark fruits, with a nice balance of bitterness with the alcohol and sweet maltiness. Clean tasting with a good mouthfeel.
