Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 19, 2008 Thanks to Larry and Anna for this nice beer--Poured a light brown-mahogany body with a medium fluffy off-white head. Body was thin in appearance compared to most PNW porters, but very nice. Nutty, roasty nose with layers of robust maltiness. Mild hops kick in the finish. Slight bitterness, but nicely balanced. Not too sweet. Finished with a mild coffee presence. Well built and easy to drink. bhensonb (2882), Woodland, California, USA Dec 18, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Something of chocolate malts and a touch of dark roast for aroma. Very dark brown color with a beige head. Starts a bit sweet with burnt toast following. Some hop bitter and some coffee. A nice porter, but perhaps a bit sweet in the finish. DA (2421), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Nov 23, 2007 Pours medium brown with a red hue at the edges, small off-white head. Nice english porter, nice as bold as most you find here brewed in the PNW, but more true to the old roots. Toasty malt base with a nutty caramel flavor, list roasted chocolate notes, and some sherry notes in the finish. jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 13, 2007 on tap-pours a thin tan head and brown color with red tint.
