Cask, Wetherspoon’s, Hammersmith. A fairly standard, and fairly boring, bitter. A bit sweet, a little bitterness in the finish, but it does not convince.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Amber to copper with white head. This is quite an odd bitter, I found it very flowery and perfumed, almost like drinking marigolds (not the rubber gloves by the way). Sharp hops with a heavier fragrant malt. Quite unusual.

Counting house. Aroma was quite minimal, nutty and grassy hints though. Taste is similar, a nutty lightly biscuioty malt with grassy and raw bittering hops.

A Mes rate: Cask at the awful Holborn JDW. Nice clean amber brown with a slim white head. Decent malt hop balance in the aroma with slight tobacco. Nice malty flavour with some slight sweet fruit and a decent citric finish which eventually turns bitter.

Cask @ JDW. Golden with a white head. Nose of hops, grapefruit and a bit of malt, taste is much the same. Decent palate but nothing exciting overall.
