Commercial Description:
Historically the term used to describe a porter blended from a variety of ales, entire butt uses 14 different malts and 3 hops to recreate this forgotten style of porter. The beer is black/brown with a crisp white head and is distinctly vinuous. It has little hop character as essentially the flavour is derived from the malts. Malts used: pale Maris Otter, lager, wheat, pale crystal, dark crystal, dark chocolate, pale chocolate, black, roasted barley, caramalt, torrified wheat, amber malt, brown malt and malted oats.

Bottle. Pours with a drak color with medium head. Aromas of roasted malts. Flavors initially of stone fruit, then some roastiness and some chocolate. Big minus: it is too thin, and watery.

500 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of light tan foam. Aromas of cereal, dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee and dark fruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of dark chocolate, roastiness, vanilla, oatmeal and coffee with a smooth dry lingering chocolatey finish.

Bottle about a year old. Pours a slightly dull tootsie-roll color with a cream colored fizzy thin head. Aroma is very roasty, full creamy chocolate, very rich, lovely roasted malt aroma. Flavor is a bit duller, thinner, some nice rich roast, a bit of light butter, light hay, a bit of coffee towards the finish, sweet aftertaste. Medium bodied, thin syrupy watery with sparse soft fizzy carbonation.

On tap at Pizza/Birreria Paradisio. Pours a clear ruby hued cola brown with a thin beige head. Caramel and chocolate up front. Medium bodied, quite sweet with some dark fruit flavors coming through. Light roast and coffee, finishing with a slow roast bitterness.

50cl bottle. Dark ruby, nearly black, tight small latte head. Metallic, sweet vanilla sugary nose, little old raisins later on. Flavor has mild lactose, burned malt, some coal, no hops, clean but bland. Light bodied, slightly low soft carbonation. I just kept wondering how one could use 14 different malts, and have this taste-free beer?

Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint. Dark brown with red highlights. Pours large frothy head that recedes to a thin line but leaves very sticky lacy. Aroma of chocolate, molasses, dark fruit, coffee and slight nuttiness. Smells stale, but in a good musty way. Mild yet complex, with notes of chocolate, musty earthiness, plum, nuts and coffee. Ends just ever-so-slightly bitter with roasted malts and English hops. Despite being relatively light, it has a smooth, almost creamy body. Low carbonation. Fantastic session beer when malts are desired.

500 ml bottle. Finland. Dark reddish brown colour with small off-white head. Roasted malt in aroma. Very Irish Dry Stout like. Sweetish roasted malt, coffee and crisp hoppiness in flavour. Slightly watery.
