leaparsons (3802), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 27, 2008 Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Golden with some haze and a small head. Aromas are citrus fruit with prickly hops. Dry and woody with hints of metal. Flavours are burnt toffee malts with citrus pith bitterness. A little unbalanced but OK.
bobinlondon (215), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 12, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End, Harrow during recent international beer fest. A hazy straw coloured beer with a white head. A hoppy aroma with citrus notes although it’s fairly subdued. The taste has citrus flavours and is nicely hoppily bitter. A reasonable body and a decent enough beer. Ethereal (724), London, Greater London, England Jun 27, 2008 Cask, JDW, 4th April 2008. Weak yellow gold looks. Strong citrus aroma carries through into the taste. There is some hoppiness but overall it is very sweet. Medium palate with an unpleasant aftertaste that brings to mind Lemon Toilet Duck. I’m not a fan. asheft (717), Marburg, Germany May 31, 2008 [cask]
Fruity aroma with floral hops and some toffee/butterscotch. Dark yellow and almost totally clear with a thin white ring. Nice crisp maltiness offset with appropriate bitterness and some lemon and orange notes. Thin body, low carbonation, a tiny bit of bitterness hangs on at the end. Very quaffable stuff. Finn (1049), Tromsø, Norway May 17, 2008 Cask at The Harp, Covent Garden 29 Apr 08. Golden colored. An OK creamy white head. No distinct aroma but a pleasant fruity flavor. Lemon-like. Sourish bitter finish. Refreshing. wheresthepath (191), Buckinghamshire, England May 16, 2008 [cask, Back of Beyond, Reading] Supposedly a wheat beer; very pale and completely clear. Taste is mouth-wrinklingly bitter. Soon a strong citrus sharpness emerges, but without any of the associated citrus flavours. Bitterness dominates in the aftertaste. Like no other wheat beer I’ve tasted - because generally I like wheat beers, and I hated this.
