Cask in the Southwark tavern, borough market. Alround rating: Pale basic malt, small hop character, lacking real bitterness. Pritty poor from saltaire, as they are normally very good.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Wetherspoons Birmingham. A golden beer with a whitish head. The aroma is nice with lemon and grassy notes from the hops. The taste has good citrus flavours with oranges and lemons. A very drinkable well brewed beer.

Cask, guest at the Friendship, Fallowfield. Light gold, firm white head. Bit of citrus aroma but mostly a slightly sweet maltiness. Slightly sweet taste with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Light palate makes this an easy beer to drink. Nothing special but I’d happily sink a few.

Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Gold with a white head. Gentle sweet aroma with some grassy hops. Sweet taste, possibly a hint of melon. Some bitterness. Fair enough.

Cask - The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. Poured a golden yellow with a very fine, weak white head that left a wispy layer of carbonation. Subtle citric aromas - not much here. Mild sherbety citric hop flavours with a short, mild bitter finish - not much here either. Soft palate texture, light body: this would session well, but it’s unremarkable.
