Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A best bitter (4.3%ABV), amber in colour with a dominant roast aroma and flavours. A slight butterscotch aroma meets the fruit on the palate, where the Challenger hop adds spicy hop bitterness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy, amber golden with a rough, off-white head. Nutty aroma. Medium body with notes of caramel and nuts before a fairly bitter finish. 311007

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a diminished white head. Mild malty aroma with a whiff of spices and some fruity tones. Flavour is slight malty with a herbal note into a bit of spices. Ends slight spiced too. A bit boring without any refinement.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty and quite spicy. The flavor is sweet malty with a light spicy touch, leading to a dry finish. The body is light.

Bottle. Spicy tangy english aroma, hints of dried fruit, and tangy vine fruit vie with nutty malt, certainly none of the diacetyl hinted at in the description. On the pallet fruit continues, with some spicy anise notes, malt sweetness makes a brief supporting appearance but little in the way of malt flavour.A big resounding bitterness is left at the end. A fantastic bitter that might be alittle more ballanced if served through a sparkler in the Yorkshire tradition.

Cask gravity at Rare Breeds BF 2007. Chestnut red, bubbly beige head. Slightly sharp best bitter. Some malt, some hop, bit too acidic and sharp for me.
