| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 22, 2009 [Bottle] Pours reddish amber with basically no head. Aroma is pretty weak at first, but after allowing it to warm up, a lot of apple, grape, and quite a bit of floral character. Taste is really strange. A vegetal aspect that isn’t very nice is present, along with mild bitterness, a perfumey, fruity taste that I can’t pinpoint and a good deal of malt at the end. Decent mouthfeel, fairly short finish. This is a very peculiar beer, and not in a very good way. Really did not enjoy it, and it got hard to drink towards the end. Dervock (181), Emu plains, Australia

Nicely balanced beer not too much carbonation. Malt falours come through first followed by a nice dry hop finish. mkel07 (526), Brisbane, Australia

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. I remember first trying this beer a year or so ago and not thinking much of it. I hadn’t taken notes at the time so I picked up a bottle recently for a fair judging. And am I glad I did. This one poured reddish amber with a medium beige head. A real nice aroma of ripe fruit, caramel and biscuit. The flavours mirror the aroma. The Shiraz characteristics are by no means dominating, but I think that’s actually a good thing and the reason why this beer works. It’s well balanced, fruity and has good malt backbone to match. A delicious beer. Bazal (13), Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Interesting. Pours a coppery colour with little head. The aroma is of late season cherries, sweet and slightly sour. The taste is floral, with cherry and plum notes and a slight shiraz pepperiness an dry character. A little thin in the mouth to really appreciate the full flavour I think. It’s certainly a unique and very drinkable beer, and with a bit of improvement it could be excellent. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Had this one during my holiday in Australia april/may 2009. 2008 vintage edition. Red, amber, copper colored brew. Aroma of ripe fruit, floral hops. Longlasting head. Tick texture. Floral hoppy, aftertaste of pepper and wine. Nice combination, but a bit strange. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 13, 2009 This is a lot more boring than I thought it was going to be. Amber-rose’ colour, almost no head. Smells like sour malt. Slight shiraz dryness, almost salty. One is enough for me.
