Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

This is a less alcoholic slightly better tasting Bud Light unfortunately. But it was a good beer. Not as good as advertised.

Sam Adams in general is probably my favorite beer. The Light is very smooth and easy to drink. It tastes like a beer is supposed to taste and is not watered down like some other light beers.

33 cl bottle, Fargo. USA. Deep golden colour, thick frothy head. Mildly spicy aroma, slightly mild flavor, as mentioned by many, a pretty good light beer.

bottle 12oz. What to expect from a light beer. Sam Adams uses a house yeast to give it the traditional boston beer flavor profile, but it is still a light beer. A very good, if not one of the better attempts to a light beer. However, not one that I would attempt again.

Ratebeer puts this in the lager category, but I think there should be a light beer category. If there were, this probably belongs near the top. It has an attractive amber color, a light head, and bubbles. The label is plain and typical. Mild aroma of yeast and light hops. The body is light, and the flavor is dry and yeasty. It is pretty similar to macro lagers, and like them, it is drinkable but uninteresting. It claims to be the only light that uses noble hops and 2-row malt. I suppose it is a notch above other lites, but it is still a notch below good beer.

Pound for pound, the best light beer on the market. I really like the boston lager, and there is not a huge difference, not quite as malty, but still this has a nice caramel color and flavor, with a nice body for a light beer. Nice clean finish.

I am just too used to the Boston Larger to say I really liked this beer. A lot of flavor is truely missing. Very clean finish; almost nothing at the end but a wet mouth aching for some flavor.

From a bottle poured amber with a fair amount of head. Kind of blah even for sam adams.
